Wolfgang obtained his Master's degree in Surgery from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2026. Then he joined the Yuan laboratory to pursue a PhD. In his spare time, he enjoys all kinds of entertainment that can soothe and relax his mind.

Juan Dong joined Yuan lab in 2016 as a Ph.D. student and graduated in 2019 after finishing her Ph.D. training. Now she was recruited as OBG by Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College, HUST.

Lisa joined Yuan Lab in 2021 as a postgraduate student and obtained her master's degree in 2024; then, she continued to pursue her Ph.D. degree in Yuan Lab to further study the reproductive medicine. She loves traveling and swimming. 

Allen joined Yuan's lab as a graduate student in 2021 and completed his PhD in 2024. He has now been recruited as a postdoctoral researcher at Zhejiang University.

Winnie obtained her Master's degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Shandong University in 2025. She then joined the Yuan laboratory to pursue a PhD and continue her research in reproductive medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys singing and playing badminton.

Mark joined Yuan Lab in 2018 to study reproductive biology as a postdoctoral fellow. He left Yuan Lab in 2022 and now works at the Laboratory Animal Center of HUST.

Cecilia is currently studying for a Master's degree at Hubei Medical College. She joined the Yuan Lab as an exchange student in 2025. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and watching movies.

Yuki received her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2024. Her interest in spermatogenesis led her to join the Yuan lab as a Master's student. She loves to travel and is always ready to explore something new.

Chloe obtained her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2022, after which she joined Yuan Lab to pursue a master's degree. She then continued to pursue her PhD in the Yuan Lab, seeking to further explore the mystery of spermatogenesis. In her free time, she enjoys playing badminton and running.

David joined the Yuan Lab in 2019 to study reproductive biology as a postdoctoral fellow. He left Yuan Lab in 2024 and is now an Associate Professor at Hunan University.

Nancy obtained her Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine degree from Hunan Normal University in 2024, then she joined Yuan Lab as a master's degree candidate student . She enjoys playing the guitar and going to the gym.

Sijin Ouyang,  M.D.  (2019-2022)

​Dr.Yuan received his Ph.D. degree in 2013 from China Medical University. He was an exchanged Ph.D. candidate student at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) from 2010 to 2013. After finished his Ph.D. training, he continued to work on reproductive biology as a post-doc in Dr.Wei Yan's lab at UNR from 2013 to 2016. In June of 2016, he moved to China as a full professor and started his own lab at Huazhong University Science and Technology (HUST). Broadly, his research field lies in aspects of human genetics and reproductive biology with a keen focus on investigating the genetic and epigenetic architecture of human infertility and the function of non-coding RNAs in germ cells' source of fertility. He likes swimming, hiking and running. 

Mia joined Yuan lab in 2023 as an is an  exchange student and  received his master's degree in 2026. He is now a Ph.D. candidate at Peking University.

ALUMNI

Dr.Wang received her Ph.D. degree from State Key Laboratory of Genetic Engineering at Fudan University in 2012. After her post-doc training from Key Laboratory of Combinatorial Biosynthesis and Drug Discovery at Wuhan University. In July of 2016, she joined Dr. Shuiqiao Yuan’s lab at HUST. Her research focuses are genetics and epigenetic regulations in the process of spermatogenesis and the role of membrane contacts between different organelles in reproductive biology. She enjoys yoga, hand-making, and traveling.

Dr.Gao received her Ph.D. degree in agriculture from Northwest A&F University in 2022. She engaged in research related to animal reproductive regulation. Her previous research focused on the regulatory role of Sertoli cells on spermatogonia. Thus, she joined Dr. Yuan's lab in September of 2022 to continue research on male reproduction as a postdoctoral fellow recruited jointly with the Central Hospital of Wuhan. Her current research focuses on the protein function in spermatogenesis and the culture of organoids. She likes climbing mountains.

Congcong Cao joined Yuan lab in 2016 as a postgraduate student and graduated in 2019 after passing through his master's degree in defense. Now he is a Ph.D. student at Peking University.

Emma joined Yuan lab in 2020 as a postgraduate student and obtained her master's degree in 2023; then, she continued to pursue her Ph.D. degree and graduated in 2026 after passing her Ph.D. degree in defense. Now she was recruited as postdoctoral researcher at Huazhong Normal University.

Dr. Wang obtained her Ph.D. degree in 2015 from State Key Laboratory of Membrane Biology, Institue of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Science (IOZ, CAS).  After finished her Ph.D. training, she continued to work on cell biology as a post-doc at IOZ from 2015 to 2018. In November of 2018, she joined Dr. Yuan’s group at Huazhong University Science and Technology (HUST). Overall, her research focuses on genetic mechanisms underlying male spermatogenesis, especially the role of the DNA damage repair pathway in meiosis. She is also interested in the function of RNA-binding protein in germ cell development. She enjoys jogging, shopping, and traveling.
